Welcome to Sheffield!
With over 30 Consultants we are one of the largest UK departments. Sheffield Gastroenterology have been the recipients of 12 Clinical Service Awards (11 national and 1 international) and 9 Clinical Research Awards (6 National & 3 International) in the last decade. Sheffield is a designated World Endoscopy Organisation Centre of Excellence and the NHS England National Centre for Refractory Coeliac Disease.
Sheffield is one of England’s largest cities, with a population of over half a million. Located on rolling hills and dissected by river valleys, Sheffield is one of the greenest and most wooded cities in Europe. More than a third of the city lies into the beautiful Peak District National Park.

My Dietary Therapy
Offering our coeliac & IBS patients better access to health information
Sheffield Gastro are currently developing a platform to inform patients about Coeliac Disease and IBS, and to guide them through the dietary therapy and lifestyle changes which will help them to manage their condition.
This will allow gastro consultants and dietitians all over the country to give patients effective and consistent first-line advice via a method designed to improve outcomes, and to monitor their understanding of their condition.
